Say YES to an America free of racial taunting
Dear Friends,
It is unfortunate that racially denigrating behavior such as the exaggerated slanting of the eyes recently exhibited by Miley Cyrus occurs in this day and age. However, OCA is providing an opportunity for the Asian Pacific Islander American community to voice their concerns against these offensive actions.
Please consider signing our petition calling for an end to such images and post your personal stories about how incidents like this have affected your life. OCA will be collecting these stories and posting informative materials and a community platform for further discussions. We trust that these vehicles of advocacy will enhance our collective ability to prevent and at times appropriately address unjust occurances in an honorable manner.
Please visit http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/noracialtaunting
Petition
I believe there is no place in America for slanted eye gestures and other racially denigrating behavior.
I join OCA and other concerned Americans in demanding an end to such practices and I pledge to speak up in the future when such injustices occur. To find out more about OCA and the APA community, visit www.ocanational.org
